Tangkoko Batuangus Nature Reserve or often called Tangkoko National Park is a nature conservation area located in Bitung City, North Sulawesi, around ±60–70 km from Manado. This area was designated as a protected area since the beginning of the 20th century and now protects tropical rainforests rich in endemic Indonesian flora and fauna. 🌱 Tangkoko's natural wealth is famous for its extraordinary biodiversity. The park encompasses a variety of habitat types, including tropical rainforests, mountain forests, and coastal areas — making it home to hundreds of plant and animal species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world. 🐒 Endemic Fauna & Wild Life Here are some typical animals that can be found in Tangkoko: Black crested macaque (Celebes crested macaque) – an endemic primate that is the icon of this park. Tarsier (tarsius spectrum) – one of the smallest primates in the world with unique large eyes.
